| Widow PC Sting 917H2 Review |
While most gaming notebooks stretch their chassis to accommodate a massive screen, the Widow PC Sting 917x2 builds up; this is the thickest model we’ve seen. The right side features two DVD drive bays, and the left side can house dual hard drives. As we mentioned in our December review of the original Sting 917, the chassis and case are rebranded pieces of hardware used by other manufacturers such as Voodoo and Alienware. The advantage of using common components is that Widow has built the line to be fully upgradeable, from hard drive to motherboard. Widow also gets points for improving the look of the 917x2’s case (the new spider badge is an improvement over the old decal) and for running relatively quietly. Even when the fans kick on, much of the exhaust is driven through a large rear port, preventing the noise from competing with the speakers. :: LAPTOP Magazine • Widow PC Sting 917H2 :: Linked by LT Hacker
